Personal Development
Northwest Native Development Fund offers a variety of financial and business educational courses. These classes and workshops are offered on Indian Reservations in the Pacific Northwest to include, but are not limited to, The Spokane Tribe of Indians Reservation and the Colville Indian Reservation.
Available Courses
Indianpreneurship
Learn the essentials for starting a business. This class will walk the client through creating a business plan, identifying a target market, marketing needs, and basic business financial analysis. Indianpreneurship uses the traditional “Story Telling” method of walking the students through the creation of a business plan.
Financial Literacy
With a certified financial educator, this course gives clients the tools to achieve their financial goals. Understanding the importance of budgeting, saving, and cost of credit products, sets clients on a path to financial stability. Students will learn the importance of paying their bills on time and building strong credit scores.
Marketing
Learn the fundamentals of marketing a business successfully. Led by a local entrepreneur, the client will receive practical and effective marketing tips and techniques to maximize exposure.
Quickbooks
During this training an experienced bookkeeper will walk through the fundamentals of bookkeeping. The client will learn how to use Quickbooks to track and monitor the financial health of their business.
Success Story
Roxanne Best is an enrolled Colville Tribal member and entrepreneur of both a photography and paddle board yoga business. When she found herself in need of assistance, Roxanne turned to Northwest Native Development Fund. Utilizing the IDA program Roxanne was able to meet a savings goal to assist with her business startup costs.
Roxanne has been not only a participant in NNDF’s programs but is also the instructor for the Indianpreneurship course.
Roxanne continues to inspire fellow small business owners by leading by example in working hard to achieve her dreams. She has also worked closely with many local artists to help them grow their business.
